Call for Papers opened for Free Test 2010

In times with increasingly complex software systems and with growing expectations regarding the quality of systems implemented, high demands are put on testing.
This conference wishes to set focus on these challenges in the context of free testing tools. We encourage you to participate with a presentation within this area.

Benclipse 0.5.9 released

Databene Benclipse is an Eclipse plugin that integrates Databene Benerator with Eclipse.

Benerators purpose is to generate mass test data for performance testing that satisfies even complex validity constraints, to be connective to all types of software systems and to be strongly extensible. Benerator reduces the work time needed for defining test data by a factor of 5 and more.

Benclipse strongly simplifies especially the first steps in test data generation and speeds up test data definition even more by providing a project wizard with a series of templates to start with, a set of bundled JDBC drivers, a sophisticated JDBC configuration wizard, a database
snapshot facility for creating database dumps in DbUnit format and a built-in HSQL database for trying the first steps.

Databene Benclipse and Benerator both are released under a dual license: GPL and commercial.

Benerator Service Release 0.5.9-SR1

benerator is the leading open source performance test data generator. It has a strong emphasis on generating valid data even for complex constraints and of being platform-independent. It is highly extendible as well by supporting a wide range of service provider interfaces and can execute scripts in SQL, JavaScript, Ruby, Python, Groovy and other script languages.

This release resolves several issues about database data generation (composite key handling, DB2 bigint data type), date generation and JavaBean handling.

Sonar 1.9 released

Sonar is an open source platform to manage code quality.

The Sonar Team is pleased to announce the release of the version 1.9.

Sonar Squid has now replaced JavaNCSS for static analysis. It fixes many Java5 parsing errors and it has direct impacts on several metrics : lines of code, complexity, comments, duplications… It enables to uncover some new axes of analysis such as undocumented APIs and JavaBean accessors. A chart displaying the methods distribution by complexity has been added to project dashboard.

Further more, performance improvements have been central in this version : increased speed, server needs less memory, new jobs to delete unused data. Sonar now supports PostgreSQL along with Oracle and MySQL.

Have fun !
