Update on Verify 2006 testing conference

VERIFY 2006, which was featured on this news page a few months back, is now taking shape. Held on 10-11 October in Washington DC, it will have a special focus on security testing and will provide a strong technical program presented by industry leaders and authors experienced with actual software implementations. The main keynote will be given by Chris Wysopal, Application Security Expert who will address QA in the design process, securing common enterprise application vulnerabilities, security test techniques, and best practices for developers to create more secure code.

Testopia 1.0-beta released

Testopia (formerly Testrunner) is a test case management extension to Bugzilla. 1.0 is a complete rewrite from the Testrunner 0.7 code base with additional features.

Jameleon 3.2.2 released

Changes were made to the HttpUnit Plug-in, Jiffie Plug-in, Jameleon Core and Jameleon Test Suite. The release includes fourteen new features and seven bug fixes.

IDX-Tsunami renamed toTsung

Performance testing tool IDX-Tsunami is now called Tsung and has a new website. A new release 1.2.0 has also been published including plugin for PostgreSQL, many enhancements for Jabber, and more.

Redhat testing standardisation project

An interesting looking project was introduced at the Redhat Summit this week. Hosted on their new open source collaboration site - https://www.108.redhat.com - the project aim is to establish a community of testers and test tool developers to help improve open source software by focussing on establishing a standard set of open source testing tools & test standards.
