Help for a beginner

Postby savitha » Wed Mar 07, 2012 8:35 am

Hi,

I am starting my career in software testing.
Could some one give me URLs of resources on the Internet that will help me learn testing.
Also a list of free software I can use for testing.
My particular fields of interest are.

1. Usability Testing
2. Application Security Testing
3. Application Perfomance Testing

Also on how to test

The ISO 9126-1 software quality model identifies 6 main quality characteristics, namely:

Functionality
Reliability
Usability
Efficiency
Maintainability
Portability

from http://www.sqa.net/iso9126.html

Thank you so much :-)

Hi ,

Did you tried wikipedia : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Software_testing ?
And have you browsed the Testing tool section of this website ? it is fairly complete.

Have you started a project , chosen some software ? Depending on the size of the project, what are your needs I could try to recomand some tools ...

Good luck !

My firm use Squash TM. An opensource test management tool.

The community around it is pretty active with a lot of new releases. It is the first part of an opensource software suite.

In the next months, Squash TM will be connected to its brother Squash TA, a automation test framework.

You may visit the website which is pretty well done.

Here : SQUASH

I hope you find the good tool for your needs.
