I am evaluating test management tool for my department. I downloaded quite a few but was unable to open them. I assume if it doesnt say linux/unix in requirement it is either webbased or windows based. But I am unable to open them. I have downloaded RTH-Turbo, Testitool. I also was unable to find any online or telephonic support for these tools. Can someone please help?
Testitool is a .gz file which you can extract using WinZIP, WinRAR, etc.
When creating your shortlist take a good look at numbers of downloads/forum posts, etc to see how active the community is. There are loads of resources on evaluating open source software which you can find through Google. I think TestLink is probably the biggest community and from the survey results coming in at the moment is by far the most popular of the test mgt tools.
Thanks. I got reviews from my team mates and nobody seems to like it. They think its not user friendly. So now I need help with other tools which are more user friendly. I need tool that is plateform independent and is very simple in terms of installation, access and work. I found tools easier to use but hard to install.
if u need a testtool, we are going to release JITE, a new web application tool. Jite is a TCM, and it integrates very deeply with jira. for example u can write functional tests and link them to jira issues.
As soon as we publish the tool on our site (due in few days) , I will post the link here..
