If you want to have an alternative to “Tests Director (now Quality Center)”, my opinion is about TESTLINK.
Its an Testing LOS (Open Source Tool Testing).
TESTLINK is an excellent solution for a little or middle testing project and no licence charge.
I used this tool, with any other tools, in a few of my project (im project director in testing in France). And my project managers are happy to work with TESTLINK.
I have many ROX (Return On eXperience) with this kind of tools. And i have never disapointed.
But, there are the same problem with all LOS :
– no support from editor (off course)
– you must writing the operatory manual, the installation and exploitation manual
– no version with no bugs, etc.
